accordion tunes

Postby justjack » Fri Apr 02, 2004 8:31 am

It turns out that one of my wife's coworkers is an accordion player, and she's getting into musette/gypsy jazz tunes. We're thinking of having her over for a jam some night, and I'm wondering-what's the accordion equivalent of Minor Swing? Swing Valse, maybe? She reads pretty well, from what I understand, but I don't want to overwhelm her. If anyone's got good ideas for a starter list, I'm all ears.

Thanks,
Jack.

I would imagine "Sous la Ciel de Paris" would be a good tune to start off with because it is pretty slow with not too many notes. But also just play Minor Swing - it sounds great with accordion, you don't have to play in 3/4 :)
