RIP Les.
Aside from the guitars, i first heard of Les Paul in the late 80's when i saw a documentary on tv called 'The Wizard of Wakesha'. I was gobsmacked that not only was he one of the first pioneers in terms of inventing the electric guitar, but he also invented multi-tracking, and was a great guitarist in his own right.
Here's a clip that shows off his multi-tracking, & his playing.
The Django influence is more than obvious.
