I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Slabiak back in the 90's when he and his Family camped near the Zoot tents at Samois. He was really nice, humble and chatty. A real slice of the history pie. Plus, he was probably the only one living who had played regularly with the legendary enfant terrible, Jacques Montagne, before he died at the ripe old age of 14 (?) or something stupid like that.

I wonder how much of the "amazing talent" of Jacques Montagne was real and how much was pure legend.
