Best setup for playing live?

Postby murillo » Tue Sep 22, 2009 7:56 pm

Hello

This is my first topic and I would like to ask if somebody could help me with the best way to setup guitar for live playing. I would like the sound to be as close to the acoustic sound as possible. Pickup or microphone, and if microphone is the answer which one gives the best sound. I watched Jimmy Rosenberg play what a wonderful world on you tube with something that looked a lot like a shure sm 57.

Best regards

OK I searched the forum and found a lot of discussions about this. I had my first live appearance with acoustic guitar last week and used a Samson kond microphone directly to mixer board and it sounded good.

But once the audience was in place I had big problems hearing myself. Something I didn?t think about because I played electric guitar before and could always hear myself through the amp. I?ll use a monitor next time, I learn by my mistakes. :D
