'ing Direct' Gypsy Jazz tune on TV ad

Postby Scouse_mouse » Mon Mar 27, 2006 12:38 am

Has anyone else heard this Gj tune on the forementioned TV ad (it's in black and white and has an orange lifebelt in it)? It's a catchy little ditty in G it's really easy to work out - but does anyone know what it's called or who's playin it? :)

The tune is Swinging Safari by the dutch composer Bert kaemfert;it was a big hit instrumental in the 60's.
Don't know who is playing it though-maybe John Etheridge with kelbie or ,considering the dutch connection, Pigalle 44??

Thanks Stu,

I thought I recognised the tune from my childhood days.

For your own sakes, don't listen to this naughty music. The dirty rhythm guitarist is clearly committing "...the sin of playing one long beat followed by one short beat" as defined in the Book of Stefan, chapter 3.
