Hi, Cor,

Not sure exactly what you mean by original CDs. Are you looking for lists from reissues of early albums (that is, records that came out during his lifetime)? Or maybe the titles on old 78 rpms? Or just any CD now available with Django's music? Let us know, I'm sure one of us can help (if not a dozen or so).

You need to get yourself a copy of Paul Vernon's snappily titled book "Jean-Baptiste Django Reinhardt: A Contextual Bio-discography 1910-1953"

ISBN 0-7546-0694-5 £55.00

This will satisfy all your needs and more. Maybe.

one of those discographys recently sold on EBay... i'm not sure where you would find it otherwise. didn't I hear that someone was working on a newer revised version that was supposed to be published this year or next?

Hot soup! Keep us updated if you find out who the someone is, and where they'll be hawking it. 'Til then, I'm on the treasure hunt. Or do I just go to Amazon?

The book I mentioned above was published in the last couple of months.

Try contacting Rachel Lynch of Ashgate Publishing at www.ashgate.com

Zoot originally said he would get them if you pre-ordered and presumably pre-paid.

Doesn't the Charles Delaunay Django biog. still have the discography in the back? Even covers private acetates and unreleased stuff.
Failing that the Fremeaux catalogue lists all the tracks of the Django Integrale series ( there are some missing that are in the Delaunay biog. - but it's free. Only goes up to around 1948, so far though)

Thrip, Teddy, thanks. Out of curiosity, and so I can stop bugging you all with questions about this stuff, is there anywhere other than this site you'd recommend for keeping abreast of new gypsy jazz info? I often feel like I'm a couple steps behind the times. Or is it just that I'm stateside?
