Nothing to do with django but a dear friend Hugh Hopper passed away the afternoon of Sunday 7th June....he was a great bass guru.

That is really sad, I loved his work. I've just found out today that his old bandmate in the great fusion group Isotope - guitarist Gary Boyle, has the dreaded big C.

Let us hope that Gary can fight it.

Thats sad to hear--Gary Boyle was one of my first heros--those duo gigs he did with Kenny Shaw at the Band on the Wall in manchester late 70's early 80's were a tremendous inspiration--lets hope he pulls through.
