Stephane Wrembel Workshop NYC - FINALIZED

Post by HowardR »

I am happy to announce this workshop that will take place in NYC on Sunday Dec.3.

I'm fortunate in that I have had the opportunity to see Stephane play over the past three years in different venues and line ups, and his talent is always top shelf.

We are in the planning stages at present and there will be more specific information to follow.

The workshop will be held in midtown Manhattan, where I have a couple of stores, one of which will be used for the workshop. In the past I have hosted a dobro workshop and steel guitar workshop by a couple of the finest players in their field.

The workshops have been a success. The environment is friendly and easy going. The instructors have been top notch and the instruction has been excellent and of a personal level.

More specific information as this finalizes.

BTW, never mind the guy on left with the panties over his head. I promise not to wear them......

Stephane Wrembel Workshop

Post by HowardR »

The Stephane Wrembel Gypsy Jazz Guitar Workshop has been finalized.

Sunday, Dec. 3.......10 am - 3pm

Location - Manny's Hat Mall 28 West 38th Street NY, NY 10018

The workshop fee is $100.00......Visa, MC, & Amex

Here is a short description of what Stephane plans to cover, in his own words:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I will propose a workshop based on rhythm and
improvisation. Improvising is not about the
relationship between scales and chords, but about
inventing melodies on the spot. So for that you need
to understand the way melody works, the different
structures, and how to use rhythm to build them.
Because at the end, rhythm is the key, the right note
at the right spot, for a harmonious effect. Also,
we'll work on interpretation ideas, how to play
melodies, and we'll work on unlocking the fingerboard,
through my personal system, the MIB chart."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A reservation is required for a couple of reasons: If you were to show up without a reservation and the workshop were filled (20people), you would be disappointed, and I would prefer not to be in that position.

Also, I have much to do to insure that everything is in place and running smoothly. It is not a small job. It's better to have the business end of the workshop settled prior to the actual workshop, so that I can devote myself to the attendees and instructor.

I've hosted two other workshops and they were exciting, fun, comfortable......and you learn a lot. That has been my experience so far.

You will need a guitar....or whatever instrument you play. This is open to all instruments......although I suppose tuba and oboe may be a bit obtuse.....but nothing really surprises me anymore.

Ok, instrument, note pad, pen, ......a recording device is permissible, no problem.

We're just under two weeks away from the Stephane Wrembel Workshop.

There's plenty of room available as there has been a small showing so far.

If you are planning on attending, or on the fence, this would be a good time to take advantage.
